Girls Advancement Update »

We have made tremendous strides in our Girls Advancement Program over the last several months. A formal mentorship program has been established at the Ngoma Basic School which is being led at the school by the Guidance Counselor, Ms. Kaoma, and the HIV Awareness Program Assistant, Ms. Chisala with daily oversight and direction from KnowledgeBeat’s Peace Corps Volunteer, Annie Gierhart. Regular seminars and mentoring sessions targeting the root issues facing school-age girls are gaining significant traction and already leading to more regular attendance by girl students.
